The way some people belive in fairy tales.

HOLY CRAP AUGUST RUSH!!!! BEST MOVIE EVAR!!!

*kehrm* It's true. This is possibly the best movie I have ever seen, and that beats LOtR and anything else. It made me teary-eyed (it was only through a great deal of self-control that I wasn't actually crying) and it gave me chills.

For anyone who has not seen this movie, here's the plot: A young kid grows up in an orphanage, called a freak because he hears things in a very different way. In his words, the music is all around us. He believe the music he hears is a gift from his parents (both of whom are musicians). Eventually he decides he must go find them, if they can't find him.
His mother, Lila, was a chellist and his father, Lewis, was in a band and they met one night when both were playing and seemed to hear eachother. However, the following morning Lewis had to leave with his band (much to his dismay) and Lila's father took her away. Both have musical troubles after that- Lewis leaves the band and Lila becomes a teacher. Lewis doesn't even know he had a kid because he was never able to contact Lila and Lila thinks the kid is dead- She was hit by a car and her father forged her signature to put the baby in an orphanage.
So the kid, Evan, Makes his way to New York, meet this kid Arthur and this crazy guy, the Wizzer. The Wizzer picks up kids with musical talent, sets them up on street corners and takes their earning to keep everyone going. (so he's not entirely bad, but in the end he's out for himself and very much... unstable). The Wizzer gives Evan a new name- August Rush.
Eventually Evan breaks free of the Wizzer, finally finds himself in a music school, writes his song that he's heard. And both his parents hear, and finally see eachother again.

As a musician, this is a poignant movie for me. That's all I can say. It was beautifully excecuted, and the music is aboslutely epic. I... I freaking love this movie. It captures everything about music that I love. And... yeah. Seriously. Go watch this movie. NOW. It has substance. It has meaning. It even has Robin Williams. And it still has a happy ending.
